Berkshire · forest & pasture · soy- & corn-free

Forest-raised Berkshire pork.

Our ground is classified as forest. The hogs live in it — rooting, wallowing, and eating a soy- and corn-free ration we mix ourselves. This is Berkshire pork from Switzerland County, packed for kitchens across the country.

We spent more than two years getting this hog to a nationwide box: breeding stock, forest management, custom feed, and the slow work of sows. We sold the first pork to neighbors. It did not stay a neighbor’s secret.

Berkshire is a heritage breed kept for marbling and flavor, not for how fast it hits a commodity weight. They live outdoors. The farm is woods as much as grass. The trough is the same standard as the chicken: no soy, no corn, no antibiotics.

Chops, sausage, ribs, belly, fresh ham — cut for a kitchen that still cooks. Frozen on the farm ship dates, nationwide. Neighbors between Madison and Lawrenceburg often pick up in Vevay instead.

What we mean

Named plainly, so the label is not doing the work.

Forest and pasture

This farm is zoned forest. The pigs live in the woods and on grass, with room to root. That is not a finishing paddock added for a photograph.

Berkshire

A heritage hog, marbled the old way. Seared in cast iron, it needs little more than salt.

Soy- and corn-free

Custom ration, every pig, every batch. The same refusal we make for the birds.

Where can I buy pasture-raised pork near Cincinnati?

What does forest-raised mean on your farm?

The property is classified as forest by zoning. The pigs live in those woods and on pasture — not in confinement. They root. That is the point of keeping a hog.

Yes. Every pig, every batch. Custom feed, including mixes we ferment on the farm.

What cuts do you offer?

Bone-in chops, spare ribs, country-style ribs, breakfast and seasoned sausage, fresh uncured belly, jowl, ham, and hocks. Shop the farm store for what is packed this run.
